Due to the collection of several West Nile virus positive mosquito samples as well as detection of the invasive mosquito Aedes aegypti within the city of Firebaugh, ultra low volume (ULV) application of insecticide will be made by truck starting on 9/11/2018 and ending 9/14/2017.  Treatments are scheduled to begin shortly after sunset (8:00 pm) but may vary depending on weather conditions.  All insecticide used has been approved for public health operations and is being applied by trained and state-certified technicians.  The vehicle will make noticeable noise during operation (akin to a lawnmower) and those wishing to take extra precautions to avoid exposure may wish to head indoors before the truck passes.  The insecticide dissipates quickly and breaks down in sunlight.  Please contact the District for any questions or concerns (559-659-2437, creis@fresnowestmosquito.com).
